Sometimes, Even a Tow Truck Needs to Be Towed: Lessons from Life’s Classroom

This one’s for the helpers our there. The selfless ones. The ones who go above and beyond. The ones who don’t know how to say no, or the ones who do, but don’t because that’s just the kind of person you are.

I saw something yesterday that caused me to stop and think. It was something that I don’t see everyday.

Yesterday, I saw a tow truck being towed.

In my experience, some tow trucks take cars that are broken down, or that need some other form of assistance to a location where they can receive help.

Being able to watch this tow truck getting towed yesterday reminded me that people can be like that too for each other.

Sometimes, tow trucks are used to move cars that have fallen on hard times. Other times, they are used to transport cars that have ceased functioning due to lack of maintenance.

But sometimes, even a tow truck needs to be towed.

Witnessing this act caused me to think about a few things. The first thing being that, we all need help at different times in our lives, we’ll also want to, or need to help others at different times as well.

I was also reminded that even in the process helping others, if we don’t take the proper time out to take care of ourselves, we too may find ourselves needing some extra assistance, due to lack of maintenance.

What do you think?

Because everyone needs a little help,

I love this, such a great reminder.

    • Thanks! It was so wild seeing the tow truck being towed in person. It was something I needed to be reminded of as well.

I remember seeing it and thinking “That’s not something you see everyday”, but when I think about the lesson I was reminded of by seeing it, I can also say in my experience that I also don’t always see the real life “tow trucks”, the helpers taking time to maintain themselves either.

It really was a great reminder!
