As news of voter suppression efforts continue to spread, it is becoming increasingly important to ensure that you do not find yourself locked out of the process.

If you haven’t already, I encourage you to register to vote.

Check out Can I Vote .org to get registered, or check your voter status by state. You can also use the resource to learn about any forms of identification that you may be required to present at the polls.

I found this resource via  a post from my social justice blogging colleague Rachel West, MSW, LMSW over at her blog  The Political Social Worker

I’ll pass along more resources or educational materials as I find them.

If you know of any resources that you would like to share about the upcoming election, voting rights, combating voter suppression, etc you can share them in the comment section below or send them to me using my contact form.

Grace & Peace,

From Aspiring Humanitarian, Relando Thompkins, MSW

I'm a Social Justice Educator and Aspiring Humanitarian who is interested in conflict resolution, improving intergroup relations, and building more equitable and inclusive communities. "Notes from an Aspiring Humanitarian" is my blog, where I write about issues of diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. By exploring social identities through written word, film & video, and other forms of media, I hope to continue to expand and enrich conversations about social issues that face our society, and to find ways to take social action while encouraging others to do so as well in their own ways.
